Thom Dowd Music in SL Shakespeare Company's Twelfth Night Productions

This weekend there is the SL Shakespeare company's Twelfth night production. I don't have a picture of the actors playing the musician cause it went by before I thought up to blog about it here too.

In Act 1 of Twelfth night at the Duke Orsino's home, he has musicians playing music. The show of course starts of with the famous Shakespeare line "If music be the food of love, play on."

Well SLSC chose Thom Dowd's wonderful music that is in the style of Neo-renaissance/early music that he specializes in. He has a great many recordings available for purchase too online and on itunes.

SLSC had a group of musicians with period instruments in hand performing Thom Dowd's recordings. It was very fitting and a great way to showcase Dowd's works.

If you have the chance, do stop by the remaining two showings this weekend. Check the SLSC blog for complete information.
