Having performed for 3 hours total yesterday where 2 hours were back to back was really tiring and really worked my fingers out. It was definitely over worked by the end and I couldn't even really type anything and so that's why I didn't blog about it right after. I just couldn't pull myself together to type a full blog (except a short one for Enniv Zarf Me Blog). The concerts were definitely successes. I had a great crowd at every concert, even the 7pmSLT one that I didn't get to specifically really promote it all that much in time. I did though squeezed in 2 mins to send like a ton of group IM's to a bunch of groups then. So it did work out. Which now reminds me I need to drop one other group and then join another one to better utilize my group spots.

2pmSLT Concert at Torino Vera - Italia Vera
I've performed a lot during the summer at the Italia Vera sims. They always have a huge crowd there, but then they don't always stay for my music since it's not your usual pop rock music. But I have discovered over a few different concerts what works with people and how to keep them there.
The presentation was definitely a lot more active in my voice and how I am much more energized and charged to get their attention no matter what I'm playing. Also I usually do start every concert with something flashy, something that moves very fast and just flies all over the keyboard to impress people to stick around and listen to the other stuff. I'm definitely playing to the audience. I tend to then have to do that for at least the first 15 minutes or so to make sure the late comers are intrigued as well and stick around.
Now once there is enough people around, I can take it back down a notch and then play some more mellow things to give my fingers a little break. Then to the end of my concert I have a little more liberty to go a little more edgy and play more daring things in harmonic choices and rhythmic choices since by then if people leave, it would be alright since it's nearing the end anyways.
Of course the type of venue I'm performing at also makes a big difference in how far I can go. The Italia sims are definitely not a place where I'd experiment too much with my music. But on the other hand, at art galleries and especially at Cedar, I could definitely try for much more daring improvs.
6pmSLT Concert at Elements in Design by Gwen Carillon. Gwen got a nice audience there and I also got a good many people attending the concert. I performed some improvs to Gwen's works along with some freestyle stuff. I did spend a good time at both of these concerts and the 7pmSLT one talking also about my websites especially this blog, and it did drive up my traffic.
I had the giveaway too and got some responses from that. I'll definitely have to work on the organization of those promo stuff better next time. But for what I have done it's still was great.
I did also get a chance to improvise to Gwen's Go Fish sculpture. It is an amazing piece of work (Picture here). I think I did a great job with it too so I'm happy with it. I'll see what I'll do to that work. I may release on a CD later. I really think it was great.
Now the 7pmSLT concert was at Em's open. It was fantastic. I had a great time there even though we started a few minutes late. We still got a great crowd there about 15 minutes after the hour. I very quickly sent out like 10 group IM's to get more people there. That was a little nutty but I did it, so it was great.
Em's flowers and nature photography were great to improvise to. I had a great time playing to them. I did even a quirky bright and cheery one on Red Daisy...took a little risk there, wasn't something I typically do. It was definitely a risk.
But my favorite one at the concert was on the winter landscape that she had. I really loved that...but unfortunately my phone rang in the middle of it so I can't actually release it in a recording...but maybe I can make it work, edit it our somehow, maybe. I really did absolutely love that improv. I thought it was my best all day even though I really also liked the go fish improv too. But the winter one was just so wintery that I really just wanted a great copy of it...oh well, I can't have it all.
All in all it was a great day and I really did perform a lot. I did feel my mind was a bit off throughout the day in terms of just not focused in everything else. But with the improv it was all good. So I was definitely very pleased.
Well until next concert...
